Monkey Puzzle Astwick has a varied and diverse team working in our nursery. We value warmth, friendly personalities, caring natures and professionalism alongside expertise in our staff.

What it’s like to be part of our team

As an owner and Manager who has worked from an apprentice, right up to a Nursery Manager and NHS Nursery Nurse in mental health, I know you can have the most beautiful setting but it is nothing without an amazing passionate and caring team.

Part of my role is supporting the manager in recruiting and keeping that team happy and balanced. We ensure we know our team well and they know they can come to us and we will try our upmost to help if they need us. We provide healthcare and mental health wellbeing support services as well as encourage and fund further professional development from apprentices right up to degree level and of course any other courses that will benefit them and the nursery. As such, many of our team have had additional training and some have lead roles such as forest school lead, outside learning lead, SENCO, PANCO, Mental health coordinator and our Language champion. We also provide additional training to the whole team on inset days twice a year and recently did sign language and outdoor first aid on these. Throughout the year we take our staff on paid team bonding events and have gatherings to promote bonding and a work community so we all feel valued. We have little gifts such as breakfast stations, cheer up chocolate day and staff appreciation gifts and awards to remind them how important they are and lift their spirits.

Everyone brings a particular skill or energy to the team and everyone who joins us embarks on a voyage of discovery with the children, but also in their own personal and professional development. Our team ethic is very much that we can never stop learning from each other in order to achieve our shared visions and goals. We provide regular support, training and development opportunities for all team members to learn and grow to be the best that they can be.

We are currently recruiting staff in our nursery so if you would like to join us, get in touch and let us know! We’re always looking to welcome talented and passionate people into the Monkey Puzzle family!
