The very youngest children at Monkey Puzzle Day Astwick spend their time in our specially designed Tulips room, welcoming children from the age of 6 to 15 months. In Tulips we work on ensuring babies feel safe and secure through strong attachments by providing support through gradual settling sessions and building a positive bond with the keyworker.

The Tulips Room at Monkey Puzzle Astwick provides a caring and stimulating environment where each baby is supported as an individual, helping to build confidence and strong foundations for future learning and development. Our team ensures children have plenty of opportunities to explore the outdoor environment through garden play, visits to the farm and trips into the local community and park, while learning about the nature around them.
We promote communication and language through warm, high-quality interactions, alongside songs, stories and a wide range of sensory experiences that spark curiosity and moments of awe and wonder. Physical development is encouraged as babies become increasingly mobile, with activities that support fine motor skills such as treasure baskets, varied toys and early mark-making tools.
We also support positive feeding routines, helping little ones begin to feed themselves independently, and we love celebrating every milestone as each baby grows and develops at their own pace.
