At Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Astwick, between the ages of 30 and 38 months old, children are welcomed into and enjoy a space in Toddlers that matches their inquisitiveness and energy. In the Lilies Room at Monkey Puzzle Astwick, children are supported to communicate confidently in full sentences and express their needs, such as during toileting, while developing an understanding of daily routines through smooth transitions, helping tidy up and following our golden rules.
Positive relationships are fostered through sharing and turn-taking, alongside learning to recognise and regulate their emotions. Physical development is encouraged with activities that promote a tripod grip and good control, while early maths skills are introduced through counting to ten and exploring shapes.
Children also gain knowledge about the world around them during walks around the farm, combining outdoor exploration with opportunities to build confidence, curiosity and independence.
