Growing up, I was surrounded by family members, who were teachers. Since then, I have always been passionate about working with children and making a positive impact on their lives. My interest in the human mind and behaviour encouraged me to pursue psychology degrees, where I developed an understanding of child development and learning theories. Before I became a qualified teacher, I also worked as a trainee early years practitioner at a nursery working with babies, 1-2s, 2-3s and preschool children. I also worked briefly as a teaching assistant providing 1:1 support for children with special educational needs and disabilities in a secondary school setting. Early education allows children to access a curriculum that enables them to be the best versions of themselves. Every child deserves a happy, stable environment in which they feel comfortable to learn through play and question the world around them. With this, they can grow in confidence and resilience, and are then better equipped to find their passions and gain crucial life skills. For these reasons, I am inspired to be an excellent role model to children providing empathy and commitment, seeing each individual child as unique. As an Early Years Teacher at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery, I wish to provide a safe, fun and positive environment where children can engage, enjoy, and be challenged within their learning for them to attain and succeed throughout their early education and beyond.

Interesting fact about me: I speak two languages: Filipino & English. Me and my family love to go camping every year.
